If you’ve been hiding under a rock and haven’t heard of the latest rising NBA star Jeremy Lin, then you need to get on the LIN-anity boat because chances are we’ll be seeing more of this inspiring Asian American in the future.
The member of the New York Knicks apparently did not do so hot on the last game and an ESPN headline authored by Anthony Fredrico utilized racial slurs with “Chink in the Armor”
Many people taking offense to this Anthony Fredrico was fired right away.
However, Lin did not take any offense to this comment and actually offered sympathy for the writer.
Besides that Lin’s family has been bombarded with paparazzi and media who have been camping outside of his parents’ house and he has been requesting that they kindly ‘back off’ especially from his 85 year old grandmother that has been chased all around because of the recent madness in her grandson’s popularity.
It’s all coming so hard and fast for Lin’s family and the fame might be too overwhelming.
I could definitely see their situation and how this could be annoying.
However, do you think that what Fredrico said was offensive? Honestly, as an Asian American I don’t think that it was very offensive at all, at least not on the level for a man losing his job was worth.
It’s unfortunate but it happened. I guess in this incredibly sensitive community of very diverse people you have be careful of what you say.
However, I wish the best for Jeremy Lin and definitely look forward to seeing his outcome in this all.
Having not watched basketball at all before, I’ll watch it now because of him!
Go Knicks!

This guy is getting a “second chance” to shine. Was on the bench most of the time and it was only when he went in for the established players that he came alive showed the world what he can do. I hope he keeps it up and gets the recognition he deserves.
