The Shepard team is back at it again. This time Derek’s sister from Private Practice Amelia go to Derek to try to find if there is a way to save Cooper’s kid’s mom, Erica a solution to her terminal brain tumor.
Derek trying to keep Amelia’s drug problem under control initially completely rejects Erica at first.
Erica initially rejects the treatment anyways trying to keep the rest of the time she has with her son sacred.
The problem with the tumor is that it is incredibly difficult to operate on.
Cristina and Owen suffer through therapy as they try to adjust to their marital problems.
Dr. Karev tires out one of his pregnant interns as he studies for his oral exams.
Dr. Torres tries to see if Meredith Grey is ready to learn her secret studying skills for the exams as well. She earns Dr. Torres’ approval with the reconstruction of a man’s hand through a meat grinder.
The Shepard team tries struggling through emotional conflicts with Cooper and Erica while trying to decide whether to do the surgery since it has a very slim success rate.
Finally, the surgery was successful and Mason gets his mother back from her supposedly terminal illness.
It’s sad though what was happening between Owen and Cristina, hopefully their marriage works out.
Karev finally finds his humanity in helping and sitting next to the intern he almost killed which I guess it’s kind of cute.
Another good episode! Not one to miss.
