Nikita – Season 2, Episode 14: “Rogue.”
Percy’s rogue. Roan’s rogue. One Guardian’s rogue. Amanda’s rogue, as she now has no one to answer to because Oversight’s doesn’t exist anymore, thanks to Percy. And Nikita’s former mentor Carla Bennett (played by Erica Gimpbel from the 80s hit show Fame) was rogue.
Carla helped Nikita get clean from drugs. So why would Carla be on the run?
Percy’s vindictive nature out to hurt Nikita by hurting someone she loves, that’s Carla. He called Nikita to let her know he was after Carla. Percy’s plan was to get Nikita to find Carla for him.
Once Nikita heard that her former mentor was in danger, she reached out to Senator Pierce who gave a televised speech with this hidden message for Carla:
“Wildflowers survive in the desert because they save their strength. They wait for the rain. They reach for the sun. And finally they bloom.”
Nikita found Carla in a most disturbing homeless section of Baltimore. Carla lived out of a car. She looked ragged and worn just as druggie-Nikita did years ago.
Alex called Nikita and told her there was a standing kill order for Carla Bennett. That’s when Nikita discovered Carla was tangled in Division. Percy and his crew arrived at the deprecated homeless area. Carla gave herself up.
When Carla got in the car, she told Percy to leave Nikita alone and to drive. They went to an industrial sector. Percy’s current headquarters. When Carla walked past Roan, she saw that his face half melted. She asked what happened to him. He said, ‘You met her.’
Carla reached over and slightly brushed her hand across Roan’s cheek. That was probably the only tender moment Roan’s experienced. Percy wanted to know why Amanda was after her. Carla said she didn’t have a clue. That one day Amanda’s attitude suddenly changed.
Conversation interrupted as a Division strike team entered the building. Nikita and Michael were there also. Percy showed some killing skills as he fired a machine gun. Not a bad shot, either. Percy didn’t get the answers he wanted out of Carla but it was enough to make Amanda nervous.
Nikita and Michael rescued Carla. Nikita wanted answers. Michael stated in the 10 years that he worked for Division Carla was not in the system. That Nikita was the first person to escape Division. Carla said she wasn’t in the program. She then looked over at Nikita and said,
‘I created it.’
Whoa!
Why is Carla on Amanda’s personal task order, above killing Percy and above killing Nikita?
