Wade & Zoe
War of the Roses remake. Wade likes Zoe, but he’s invisible to her. Like a little lovesick puppy, he annoys the Hell out of her. Wade stole Zoe’s expensive shampoo and gave it to his slutty girlfriend (Bambi, Vixen, whatever her name). He reprogrammed the stations on her radio. He locked Zoe in her house and stole her cell phone so she would not make it to the dance. Ongoing love/hate haul.
Zoe & Judson
Finally, she’s agreed to go on a date with Judson (same guy she found in bed with her best friend – ew). Judson handsome but boring, but handsome. Zoe came to the dance with dirt on her clothes and leaves in her hair. Locked in her house by Wade she had to climbed out the window and fell off a trellis. Judson recognized Zoe’s interest in payback at Wade more intense than a romance with him. He broke it off. Short love haul.
Wade & Slutty Girlfriend
Two can play that game. Zoe asked the slutty girlfriend to be finished with Wade by 11:00pm. She revealed that the bickering between her and Wade was foreplay. Slutty girlfriend fumed out her ears. Zoe had a dozen roses sent to slutty girlfriend with, “I love you” note. Wade said he would never send her flowers. Slutty girlfriend chased Wade out of his own house. Short love haul.
Brick & Pie Baking Woman
Lemon set her dad up on a double date to the dance. He left. Shortest loveless haul.
Lemon & George
George felt Lemon at a distance since Christmas. Brick that told him that Lemon had discovered her mother had moved on and had a new family. That’s why Lemon had thrown herself into fund-raising events to distract herself from the pain. She and George reconnected. Long love haul.
Zoe & Wade
She realized she had feelings for Wade. When he came to her door after the dance she told him, ‘I like you.’ He sported a wad of money he had won as a bet that Zoe and Judson would break up at the dance. (Wade, you redneck moron! She just said she liked you. Gah!) A very long love/hate overhaul.
Didi & Lavon
He did ask Didi to the dance. When her ex-boyfriend came back into town to reclaim Didi, Lavon backed off. It wasn’t until Lavon and Didi talked that he understood her relationship with her ex-boyfriend was over, over. Long love haul.
