Glee – Season 3, Episode 11: “Michael.”
What would Michael Jackson do? That was the project for the New Directions according to choir director Will. The girls were up for it since they did not get their chance to sing Michael Jackson songs as the Trouble Tones.
Blaine kicked off the Michael Jackson tribute by singing, “Wanna Be Startin’ Something.” It was okay. It wasn’t inspiring, but it was okay.
Slithering snake Sebastian from the Warblers informed the glee club that Warblers set to sing Michael Jackson songs at regionals.
Song-off battle commenced.
In a darken park in lot, the Warblers and the New Directions battled sing-off to “Bad.” Santana sang the “I’m Bad” verse. She did all right. At the end of the battle, Sebastian tossed a slushy at Blaine’s face.
Blaine immediately fell onto the pavement in pain. The slushy contained rock salt. Blaine went to the hospital, expected to need eye surgery. Upset at what happened to Blaine, Artie and Mike performed MJ’s “Scream.”
I tire of the bullying on this show. Seriously, it is enough!
Rachel confided in Quinn that Finn proposed to her. Quinn shared with Rachel that she’s accepted into Yale. That life was too short to make long-term commitments. Quinn sang, “Never Can Say Goodbye.”
Sam asked Mercedes to sing one last song with him in the auditorium. The duet was “Human Nature.” Oh yeah, Sam and Mercedes kissed. The romance not over yet.
Kurt received his letter to NYADA stated he was a finalist. Rachel did not receive a letter, yet. Unsure what to do, she has yet to accept Finn’s proposal.
She and Finn visited Blaine at the hospital. Kurt was there. Rachel, Finn and Kurt sang, “Ben.” Not sure that was the best choice of song.
Santana visited the Warblers at their school. She wanted a one-one-one song battle with Sebastian. Song was “Smooth Criminal.” She yanked his chain, got him to confess that he put rock salt in the slushy. Crafty Santana recorded the confession on tape.
Meanwhile Finn told Rachel to take as much time as she needed to decide on marriage. They sang “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.” She said yes. But did she accept the marriage proposal because she did not receive an acceptance letter from NYADA?
New Directions invited the Warblers to the auditorium. Santana revealed what Sebastian had done to Blaine to the Warblers. She then tossed the incriminating tape to Sebastian.
New directions sang “Black or White.” Members of the Warblers joined the staged and sang together as one group. Sebastian left to sit alone in the stands.
Rachel finally received her finalist letter from NYADA. She told Kurt immediately who then asked her, ‘Have you told Finn yet?’ A blank stare came over her eyes. Ambition before love. Of course, she forgot.
Will Rachel keep her commitment to marry Finn? What will happen to the New Directions when Quinn goes to Yale? When Rachel and Kurt finish high school?

This Michael Jackson Tribute was great, I really felt like they went all out with it and wanted to do it right! I really like when glee does little things like this, they pick some of the best song as well and perform them outstandingly.
The costumes were great. The singing was good. I think I would’ve liked the song “Bad” done another way, but I do love Glee’s tribute shows.
