Hart of Dixie – Season 1, Episode 12: “Mistress & Misunderstandings.”
Zoe Hart a mistress? Say it ain’t so. Mistress has relations with someone who is married. Let’s discuss all the people Zoe knows in Bluebell.
There’s Lavon Hayes, good-looking ex-football player but he’s not married. Also, that’s Zoe’s best friend so – ew! Then there is Wade – ew, ew, ew! Yes, he’s single. Yes, he’s cute. Yes, he is a slut. So, ew!
There’s Dr. Brink, her partner in the medical practice. Say it with me – EW! But he’s not married. His wife abandoned him so he is single, technically. Then there’s George who’s engaged to Lemon. Now George and Zoe once had a mutual bonding but that time had passed.
So then, who’s left? Zoe snuck around town, left notes to hook up with someone. Acted secretive, evasive and she was happy. Zoe’s never been happy in Bluebell. So who was she seeing?
AnnaBeth.
No, it’s not a girl-on-girl affair. Zoe found herself a girlfriend. The two gals chatted a up storm about boys, gossiped, you know the usual girl stuff. But never in town, only in the privacy of Zoe’s room. Neither wanted Lemon to find out. There would be Hell to pay.
Zoe took it upon herself to teach AnnaBeth some New Yorker assertive training and it worked. AnnaBeth spoke up for herself to Lemon. Right in front of the reigning Memory Matron who was about to appoint the next Bluebell to her position.
Lemon tasted her own bitter aggressiveness. Not so sweet, huh, Lemon.
Annabeth was appointed memory Matron. Then what happened next? You guessed it, she was unwilling to be friends with Zoe.
Ouch!
After all the fun they had together. After Zoe’s coaching Annabeth how to stand up for herself. After Annabeth appointed a most coveted position over Lemon. Annabeth dropped Zoe like a sack of potatoes.
Best friends not forever.
So who was the mistress in the story? The current reigning Memory Matron. Lemon found out she was having an affair with one of Zoe’s patients. George however would not let Lemon use that information to climb the social ladder. Good for George! Bad for Lemon.
