Glee – Season 3, Episode 10: “Yes/No.”

Was the show about the upcoming Regionals? No, sorry, the entire show dedicated to relationships.

One very cool part of the show was the use of Becky’s voice over. It wasn’t Becky’s voice. In her mind her voice sounded like the Queen of England, Helen Mirren! She’s Queen enough for me. That was awesome! Now, about the couple’s storylines…

Sam & Mercedes
Gang recreated the choreographed number “Summer Nights” from the movie Grease. I was not impressed as it was an exact duplicate of the movie. Mercedes, you are not Olivia Newton John. Sam, you are not John Travolta. I expected a remix, a mash up but not a Xerox copy.

Coach Beiste & Cooter
During teacher’s lunch break, Coach revealed to Sue and Emma she eloped with Cooter. Emma caught up in the romance of the elopement sang “Wedding Bell Blues.” Coach Beiste and Coach Sylvester her backup vocals (that was great!).

Will thought Emma had proposed. She quickly left teacher’s break room. Now it’s in Will’s mindset to pop the question. He asked the Glee club for help. Will needed that perfect song. Artie and the guys sang “Moves Like Jagger” mash up with “Jumping Jack Flash.” Come on guys, where’s the romance in that?

Rachel, Santana, Mercedes and Tina sang “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” with great passion. I don’t think there was a dry eye among them. Eh, it was okay but excessively mushy for Miss Pillsbury.

Becky & Artie
She had the hots for Artie. He invited her to see the guys perform their song, but Becky wanted a real date at the Breadsticks eatery. He agreed. But when Artie saw Becky was serious about having a relationship, he dumped her. (That’s why the voice over worked so well.)

Finn & Rachel
He had some glorified intention of joining the army. Finn’s mother however finally told him the truth. His father was not a war hero. When Finn’s father returned from the war he abandoned his family. Rachel sang “Without You.”

Will & Emma
Sam (newly joined member of the synchronized swim team, don’t ask) had an idea on how Will should propose to Emma.

STOP!

After three seasons. After pining for this germaphobic sweet woman. Will, you can’t come up with your own proposal? I can understand help with song choice. But seriously, an overproduced number to win Emma over really didn’t suit her personality.

Here’s how it went down. Will took Emma’s hand and walked her down the hall. A couple of students, Beiste and Sue hand Emma white roses. Will and Emma entered the pool room. Glee club performed “We Found Love” as a synchronized swim routine. Will dressed in a white tuxedo dove into the pool. Swam to Emma and then asked her to marry him. She said yes.

It’s a pool room full of splashy water, wet kids, wet Shuester. Does that sound like something Emma would like? Uh, no. She still said yes (you didn’t think she’d say no, now, did you?).

Finn & Rachel again
Romance lingered in the air. Finn realized he did have something to live for instead of the army and it was Rachel (does he not know she lives, eats, breaths becoming a star?). He dropped to one knee and proposed. She said…
