Storage Wars – Season 3, Episode 48: “Hook, Line and Sucker.”

Auction took place in Inglewood, California. That’s Nabila’s turf and she’s not thrilled to see the other Storage Wars stars in her backyard. Her plan, if she didn’t want the locker, she would up the bid. You’re such a peach, Nabila.

Jarrod and Brandi absent during this auction.

First unit sparse. Duffel bag, rolled carpet, old computer table, lamps, and a small television. A Gucci bag caught Nabila’s attention. Bid war between Nabila and Darrell. She won locker for $425.

Once inside she took a good look at the Gucci bag. F-A-K-E. She touts her 20-years in business experience, but the Gucci had her bid on wrong locker. Her brother found what appeared to be a 1600s musket pistol. She took it for appraisal. Might get her money back.

Expert looked at the pistol. Told her authentic musket pistols could bring up as much as $25k. Yes, her eyes bugged with $$ signs. But he had bad news to tell her. That was a reproduction worth about $100. Wah, wah, wah… no Nabila, you did not go out with a bang.

Second unit small but packed. A dirty, stinky mattress popped out the door. (Gave me bed bugs just at the sight.) Barry played the unit down because he really wanted it. Nabila didn’t like it one wit. Dave jested he would sucker someone to buy it. He didn’t have to, really.

Barry bid but so did random people (ordinary folk like you and me). While Barry had a cap of $250 for the locker, Dave urged Barry to buy it. Barry won locker for $320. Here’s the thing about Barry, he doesn’t own a store. When I see him buy a stacked locker, all that stuff will hit the trash. Barry is only interested in one big wow factor, that’s it.

He tried to get his locker to open. No can do. He asked big linebacker-bodied clerk for assistance. No can do. The mattress wedged itself against the door. With a little huff and puff between the two of them, they managed to open the door. Mattress almost fell on Barry.

Did Barry find that one “wow” factor? Yes he did. I don’t know how he does it, but he did. He found four black and white photographs about a race track that dated back to 1938. The horse track not far from the storage units. Barry heads over there to see the curator.

Fire had destroyed the original frescoes. Quite possible the photographs were the only historical images left of those frescoes. Ca-ching, baby. Barry wanted to hear that sweet sound of money. He got it. Appraised at $5000!

Last locker stacked with furniture, right up Dave’s alley. Dressers, tables, Mexican wicker chair, chairs and more. Dave didn’t have much of a battle with Darrell. He won locker for $775. Inventory for his store. Win-win.

Score profit card:

  • Barry – $4,680
  • Dave – $725
  • Darrell – $0
  • Nabila – loss of $45

Do you think Barry just gets lucky? What is it with Darrell, why can’t he win lockers?
