Revenge – Season 1, Episode 12: “Infamy.”

Book author Mason Treadwell wrote Society Connection. Book implicated David Clarke as the sole cause of that fatal plane crash. Did Treadwell know different?

Yes. What turned him? Money. Never underestimate the power of money. Grayson’s got to him before he could publish the truthful story. Mason was an idealistic struggling journalist. He was after facts. The truth. But he was also broke.

Mason had interviewed a very young Emily after her father’s incarceration. She knew her father was having an affair with Victoria. However, she didn’t have proof. When Mason published the book, young Emily believed those words. She hated her father and burned his photo (more burning to come).

Present day Emily had her sights on the author. She went to a book signing to see Mason. She introduced the author to Nolan the billionaire. Nolan toyed with the idea of having his life story published. Dollar signs lit up in Mason’s eyes. This gave Emily and Nolan an invitation to see Mason’s house.

Emily looked around the room. Her heart gasped. Locked inside a cabinet were several VHS tapes interviews of David Clarke. She also noticed a manuscript on the desk. Mason mentioned those were his memoirs. Old school writer, didn’t have copies just the original (not a smart move).

Mason wanted to interview Amanda Clarke (the fake Amanda) once again. Emily encouraged her with a little help of earpiece and microphone. During the interview, Amanda appeared bored. She played with her lighter.

Emily instructed Amada to get up all in his face (which fake Amada did so well). Then Amanda threatened Mason to reveal the truth. To expose his false stories about her father at his excerpt reading of his memoir that night at Victoria’s

Didn’t happen. Victoria’s ring of fire protection caused great fear in Mason. Be burned by Amanda or burned by Victoria. Amanda had nothing on him. Victoria however could discredit him in a heartbeat. Mason chose the low road.

Only one thing left to do. Emily had Nolan distract Mason. Nolan took the author for a nice long dinner. During this time, Emily broke into the author’s home. She stole the VHS tapes. Took fake Amanda’s lighter and lit a cigarette. Placed that cigarette on top of the memoirs (told you not having copies was a bad idea).

Before Emily left the house, she planted Amanda’s lighter on the desk. That of course would implicate fake Amanda. As Nolan pulled up to the house with the author, they both saw the house up in flames. Author fell to his knees. Nolan summed the sight in two words:

“Bad Girl”

Emily watched the VHS tapes at home. She uncovered a truth she didn’t see coming. Victoria had a child. David Clarke told Mason in oh so many words that child was his. Charlotte, Victoria’s daughter was in fact Emily’s half-sister. Emily’s heart gasped.

What do think about Emily being Charlotte’s half-sister? Will the fake Amanda be implicated for the fire?
