Storage Wars Texas – Season 1, Episode 14: “Remember the Alamo.”

Auction took place in Fort Worth, Texas. Temperature near 120°F. That’s Texas heat for ya. Small surprise few bidders went to the blistering hot auction. While the outside temperature was hot, the lockers were not.

Victor made a snide comment about Texans and their trucks. Seriously, Vic, why don’t you get your Yankee assets back to New York. You have enough grease on your hair to oil a car. At least Texans know to cover their heads during a heat wave.

Moving on.

First unit for auction looked like someone’s house threw up in there. A messy, mess, mess. An explosion of tossed clothes and old furniture. Victor didn’t want the unit, but he was the first to bid.

Huh?

Bid war between Lesa and Victor. Lesa won the messy unit for $500. Ricky and Bubba had the good sense not to bid. What did Lesa find in the pile of (bleep)? A Davy Crockett cookie jar and Davy Crockett tent.

She had them both appraised. The tent dated back to the 50s and did the cookie jar. Tent valued at $100. Jerry couldn’t believe a tent would go for that much. The cookie jar was another matter.

If it was the larger cookie jar, which it was, it had a retail value of $900. Lesa looked stupefied. That much for a jar? Yep. Appraiser even measured the jar to make sure it was over 9 inches. It was. Lesa had the real McCoy.

Actually, the cookie jar made from the McCoy Company. Lesa planned to sell the jar and place the tent as a showpiece in her store. She needed to class up the joint. It’s going to take more than a tent Lesa to class up your store, just saying.

Second unit had two dirty mattresses (first thought are bed bugs, second thought are bed bugs, gross), broken dryer, leather sofa, and old electronics. Looked like an indoor yard sale. Victor started the bid again.

What is it with this guy?

Ricky and Bubba didn’t want it. Lesa really didn’t want it. Victor won it for $325. Moe didn’t win anything in this auction. Neither did Ricky and Bubba. They did show a clip of a recent locker purchase Moe made, but since it was not pertinent to this auction, I’ll skip it.

Victor found a replica sword, metal show slip-ons, knight’s helmet (not authentic) and a chain mail shirt. He went to “Medieval Times” a medieval themed restaurant. If you’ve never been, they have an arena inside. Jousting, knight duels, etc.

Victor gave one of the Knights the sword. He called it a butter knife because it wasn’t meant for fighting. Victor scoffed. The whole lot valued at $1,200.

Score profit card (excluding Moe’s other purchase):

Lesa – $820
Victor – $365

Lesson learned any auctions in 100°F weather not fun at all.
