Work it – Season 1, Pilot
Show lost my attention the very moment I heard the laugh track. That was within the 30-seconds of the pilot. I rank it as one of the worse shows of the year, and the year just started.
The premise had promise. An unemployed car salesman dresses as a woman to land a job. The main character Lee was and is butt-ugly as a woman. That dress, that wig what an insult to drag queens everywhere.
The job he landed was a pharmaceutical drug salesperson. You know who they are if you’ve sat at a doctor’s office long enough. They roll a black suitcase around filled with samples for doctors to give away to their patients.
Why a pharmaceutical drug salesperson? Of all female dominated jobs that’s the best the series could imagine? Bo-ring.
Overacting to the shizzle. I know it’s a pilot. I know it takes time for all the actors to gel. It was a Jell-O mess.
The lead actor, Benjamin Koldyke, don’t mean disrespect, but he has a honker of a nose. No way could he pass off as a woman. His costar Amaury Nolasco however looked good as a man and a woman.
So many unfunny jokes. I watched my wall clock tick-tock, tick-tock.
How did Lee “happen” to fit into his wife’s dress jacket? Or skirts for that matter. No freakin’ way. The costume department should have a dress on him. That would have made more sense. A flowing dress more plausible.
Besides the cosmetics the show was just not funny. It was contrived, trite and not worth the 30-minutes of airtime. This midseason replacement needs replacing fast.
What did you think of the pilot? Will you watch the show again?
Watch Work It on ABC

I didn’t watch it, but I’ve heard nothing but horrible things. The premise sounds really tired, and I heard it’s pretty stereotype-y and offensive.
Allegra – it was in a word bloody awful. Wait, that’s two words. It was bad. Bet it’s out by 3rd episode.
