Storage Wars Texas – Season 1, Episode 13: “The Good, The Bad, And The Hungry”

Dud. That’s right this episode was a dud. Comic books and clothing were the big-ticket items. Big whoop!

First unit was small but packed. Items in plain sight were kitty litter (gross), toys, and boxes (which may or may not have something of value). Moe was the last-minute bidder and took the unit for $675.

Two things I don’t understand about Moe. First, he drives a different car to every auction or so it seems. Second, where does he get his sneakers? They look like painted murals or graffiti.

What did he find in his unit? A few boxes filled with “MAD” magazine by DC comics. Significance here was issue 24 (1955) in which the magazine switched their format.

Sealed and in mint condition. Moe went to get his “MAD” magazines appraised. Not all the issues were in prime condition but the lot was appraised high at $3010.

Okay, so I won’t make fun of his sneakers (maybe).

Second unit jammed with chairs, cabinet drawers, dishes and junk. Bid war between Bubba and an old woman. Saved Victor the trouble of upping a bid to a locker he didn’t want. Bubba won the locker for $290.

Inside the unit junk and more junk. It was a dud. Ricky and Bubba did find a wooden mass-produced hamburger presser. In addition, they found a wooden mandolin contraption used in kitchens to slice food. Duds.

Les went with Jerry to the bank. Bent to win the tycoon’s unit. She came out with a wad of money. He-llo! Victor had his eyes set on the same locker. Bid started at $500.

Inside that unit boxes and more boxes. A few corporate paintings but it looked hallow. The fact it was a rich guy’s unit was enough to spark hot high bids from the get-go. Everyone got into the action. At the $2000 bid mark, it was between Victor and Les.

“Right here!” – Victor

“Bring it!” – Les

Victor pissed that Les had money to blow on this locker. She won at $2,675. Victor squirmed. Les nervous she spent a whole lot of money on possibly a whole lot of nothing.

Once Les and Jerry dug through the unit, they found a few surprises. The paintings had price tags stickers on the back. One was at $1,291. Not bad. A wardrobe box was next good find full of new clothes. Black jacket with price tag at a little over $5,000!!! Size 2 (skinny girl friend, perhaps?).

Score card:

  •  Les – $6,248.
  • Moe – $2,335
  • Ricky & Bubba – $465
  • Victor – $0
