Revenge – Season 1, Episode 10: “Loyalty.”
Nothing went Emily’s way.
Nolan didn’t get rid of Tyler. Instead, Tyler appeared to have an even stronger hold against the Grayson’s and Emily than ever before. Amanda (the real Emily) decided not to run off to Paris. Satoshi Takeda, Japanese businessman and Emily’s revenge-mentor told her she was on her own.
Sigh.
Lack of loyalty displayed by Nolan was more out of fear (wuss). Tyler manly shoved him which unnerved Nolan (by the way, what happened to Nolan’s bodyguard?) Emily advised Nolan to pull out of his investment with Tyler.
Though Nolan retrieved Lydia’s speech from Tyler’s possessions. Tyler returned the favor when he swiped the USB camera from Nolan’s pad. Guess what Tyler discovered on that camera?
Lydia’s over-the-balcony drop initiated by bodyguard (who’s now dead as a doornail, thanks to Amanda). Tyler then blackmailed Conrad keep his job with Grayson Global (swell). Tyler also confronted Emily that he knew she leaked that information to the Grayson’s (double swell).
Does Tyler have an Achilles heel? He pops pills, lots of them, to control his anxieties. You know he will snap it’s just a matter of time.
Amanda’s taken by Jack, love perhaps? She’s not about to leave, so much for her loyalty to Emily. Can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Emily decided to “assist” Amanda.
She wrote some of her childhood memories in a notebook. She crumpled the notebook to look worn and used. Gave it to Amanda for reference. Amanda’s a loose cannon, but for now she believed Emily’s on her side.
Emily sparred with Takeda out on the deck. He taught her self-defense, Japanese and the art of war. He told her to refocus on her goals as they trained. However, once he saw her with Daniel, Takeda realized she developed emotions for the young man. “Emotions clouds judgment,” he went on and said,
“You are on your own.”
Tyler’s gained power. Amanda gained Jack’s affection. Nolan wanted no part of Emily’s revenge game. Emily’s now without a mentor. Nothing went her way, but that can change like the wind.
Will Tyler self-destruct? Will Amanda slip and Jack discover her real identity? Can Emily get her revenge on the Grayson’s back on track?
